Best finding of my life - potentially. I was at a the closing of a restaurant last week - and amidst some delicious food and champagne, found myself in the middle of a silent auction. All proceeds were going to charity - and the crowd was not that huge... So I started bidding on a few things. Silly, old fashioned hats for my mother... a copper wine bucket that was just tarnished enough that it would go perfectly with my apartment... and then I saw it - the most beautiful gold mirror of my entire life.
Should I bid? I debated with myself... Oh, why not. Minimum bid is $40 - if people start bidding against me, I'll leave it alone. I went on socializing and enjoying the evening - and what do you know? The silent auction closed and no one had outbid me! I was shocked - and thrilled to pieces. I'd just gotten the world's prettiest (and largest! 6x3) mirror for $40. All it took was sweet-talking my Step Dad into helping me pick it up a few days later... and *presto!* it's really mine :) [Thank you, Universe!]
Granted, I'm not sure where it's going in my apartment... (truth be told, it's really for my next place)... but I'm certain I'll find it a great place to call home on my walls - and I know that I'll feel the magic of fate, beauty, and antique beauty whenever I pass by...
